Sandra M. (Brunelle) Aboody, 81, of Worcester passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday January 25th, 2023, after a brief illness.
Sandra was the daughter of Francis and Elsie Brunelle. Her father was a talented baker and her mother was an adored waitress for years at the Trolley Stop in East Brookfield. Sandra was born in Worcester and then moved to East Brookfield where she spent her junior and high school years. After graduating from David Prouty High School, Sandra started working as a receptionist for Ted Smith hair salon in Worcester where she met her husband, Richard. Her witty sarcasm and style was ahead of its time. She was known for her stunning beauty, stylish updos and humor. Sandra went on to marry Richie in 1968 and have three lovely children whom she adored. She worked alongside her family at The El Morocco Restaurant. Sandra was a devoted mother and grandmother, she loved to worry about her children and believed a good meal could fix anything.
Sandra is survived by her daughter Susan Aboody-Kallio of Worcester; two sons, Richard Paul Aboody and his wife Mary of Cambridge, Minnesota, Christian J. Aboody and his wife Denise of Bloomington, Minnesota; a brother, Stephen Brunelle and his wife Mary Ellen of East Brookfield; a sister, Deborah Oliver and her husband Steven of Brookfield; eight adored grandchildren, Annalise, Joseph, Alysia, Christian (CJ), Sophia, Wayne, Ava, and Jacinthia; a brother in law, Roy Hagen, Jr. of Douglas; Many loving Nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, Francis and Elsie, her husband Richard, her son in law Wayne Kallio, and her sisters, Linda Brunelle and Donna Hagen, all predeceased her.
A period of calling hours will be held Tuesday, January 31, from 9:30 am to 11 am, followed by her funeral service at 11 am in Our Lady of Perpetual Help church, 256 Hamilton Street. Burial next to Richie will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Flowers may be sent, or memorial remembrances made to Our lady of Perpetual Help Church, 256 Hamilton St. Worcester, 01604. We would like to thank the team at Fairlawn Rehabilitation Center for their tremendous care and kindness to our mother on her final days.
