Sarah M Dipersia

July 24, 1926 — October 30, 2018

 

Sarah “Sally” M. (Pignatiello) Dipersia, 92, died peacefully at Homestead Hall in Worcester on Tuesday October 30, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years Anthony X. Dipersia. Sarah was born in Fitchburg MA. the daughter of Leonard and Rose (Lanzilotti) Pignatiello and came to Worcester many years ago. She was a graduate of Belmont St. Preparatory School and Commerce High School. Sarah was an administrative assistant at Holy Name High School, and   the Diocese of Worcester. She also worked for many years for the Massachusetts Share Insurance as a bookkeeper until she retired.

Sally was a devout parishioner of the Church of St. Stephen for over fifty years. She enjoyed sewing, reading, the theatre, art and loved to travel. Sally was a member of the Worcester Business & Professional Women’s Club serving as Corresponding Secretary. She received an outstanding member certificate from the B.P.W. Her pursuit of Education led her to join the WISE program (Worcester Institute of senior education) at Assumption College.

Sally’s greatest love was for her family. She leaves three daughters, Nancy Zlotek and her husband David of Nashua New Hampshire, Mary Jane Fors wife of the late Richard Fors of West Boylston MA. Michaela DiPersia of Gloucester, MA. Sally also leaves her son David A. Dipersia and his wife Kim of Worcester, and  leaves her brother Joseph Pignatiello of Brooksville, Florida.

Sally was the proud grandmother to Patricia (Zlotek) Law of El Paso Texas, Katherine (Zlotek) Dezotelle of Fairfax, VT. Ashley (Fors) Brisebois of Arlington, MA. Adam Fors of Worcester, Rachelle (Zolfonoon) Coleman of Baltimore, MD., Gian Zolfonoon of Boston, Amanda (Dipersia) Cantrell of Atlanta GA. And Dominic Dipersia of Worcester. Sally was also the loving great grandmother to Isaac and Paige Law, Zia and Sina Coleman, and Grace Brisebois, and many nieces and nephews. Sally will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Sarah’s funeral will be held on Tuesday November 6, from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 11.00AM in the Church of St. Stephen, 357 Grafton St. Calling hours to honor and remember Sally will be held on Monday November 5, from 4PM to 7PM in the funeral home. Interment with her husband Anthony will be in St. Johns Cemetery.
