Sarah F. (McDaniel) Kennedy, 90, of Worcester, passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021, at UMass Hospital in Worcester. She was predeceased by her husband, William H. Kennedy.
Sarah is survived by her loving family, including three sons, Ray W. Robinson, Jr. of Worcester, David Allen Hamilton and his wife Linda of Baltimore, and Gary L. Hamilton of Ohio; five daughters, Dorothy L. Dawson and her husband James of CA, and Veronica Harthorne and her husband Glen of Lutz, FL, Yvonne Otoo of Maine, Kathleen Napier of Worcester, and Destiny Harthorne of Worcester; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-six great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. She was tragically predeceased by a son, William Robinson earlier this year, and by a daughter, Tammy JJ. Kennedy. Sarah was born in Florence, SC, daughter of the late, General O. McDaniel and Everlena (Rich) Jarrett. She grew up and attended school in South Carolina, before moving to Baltimore, finally settling in Worcester in August 1966.
Sarah worked as a mental health aide for over twenty-six years at Worcester State Hospital, retiring in 1992. She was a member of All Saints Church and assisted as a Cub Scout den mother and also in many events for the Worcester Host Lions Club. Sarah loved her family and found the greatest joy when surrounded by them.
Calling Hours for Sarah will be on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, from 9 a.m., until 10:15 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, followed by a small private funeral for family and close friends.
