Saundra M. (Lashua) Michaud, 82, recently of Worcester, formerly, a near life-long resident of Ashburnham, passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at UMass Hospital on Belmont Street. She is reunited with her daughter, Kim Austin, who predeceased her in 2015.
Saundra is survived by her loving husband of sixty-four years, Richard J. Michaud, Sr.; their devoted children, Richard “Rick” Michaud, Jr. of Worcester; Cindy Pina and her husband Charles of Marstons Mills, and Terri Flattes of New Bedford; three grandchildren, Randy Kennedy of Athol, Steven Kennedy of Hyannis, and Jennifer Streicher of New Hampshire; eight great grandchildren. Saundra was born in Ashburnham, and was one of fifteen children born to William and Alma (Florence) Lashua; she is survived by five brothers and eight sisters, Paul Lashua, William “Junior” Lashua, Jr., Ronald “Porky” Lashua, and Kevin Lashua all of Ashburnham, and Duane “Dewey” Lashua, Jean Critchton, and Constance McCrossin, all in Florida, Evelyn Bolden of Westminster, Beverly Higgley of Ashburnham, Gloria McCaffrey of Townsend, Cynthia Davis in New York, Charlotte Bakken and Clarisse Kersch, both in New Hampshire; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Richard Lashua.
She spent many years working beside her husband as a contractor fulfilling many dreams and aspirations for their customers. She was never one to back away from adventure and had a zest for life. She could often be found horseback riding, decorating cakes for all occasions, riding in a hot air balloon, or even trying a “zip” line.
Saundra, enjoyed so many things that life had to offer, but it was her love and devotion to her family that brought her the most joy.
A Celebration of Her Life will be held at a later date.
