'Poet and author Kahlil Gibran says, 'When you are joyous, look deep into your heart and you shall find it is only that which has given you sorrow that is giving you joy. When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.' Sean Michaud's family now experiences profound sorrow as he died unexpectedly at home on Thursday, May 31, 2018. He was 48. They will continue to talk to him in their minds, remember and love him with their hearts and in their souls know he enjoys everlasting peace.
Sean Peter Michaud was born May 23, 1970 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He was the only son of Cynthia Thatcher. Raised and educated in West Yarmouth on Cape Cod, he was a graduate of Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School with the class of 1989 where he played hockey. Growing up on the Cape afforded him the beauty of its beaches, fishing with his uncle Eddie on the Bass River, playing soccer and youth hockey and time spent with his friends, and his cousin Bryan.
He loved life and the people in it! Outgoing and fun, he had a laughter that was contagious. He was a master at the grill, with a specialty for lobsters. The beach is the place he went to breathe in the freshness of the sea and breathe out the cares of the day. 'Uncle Sean' was adored by his nieces and nephews whom he fished with on the jetty, towed in the raft or pulled on a boogie board. He treasured Christmas with family and relished in the much anticipated Christmas Eve ‘re-gift' that would create a room full of laughter. Halloween wasn't just for his kids. He'd dress the part and enthusiastically play the role of whichever costume he was inspired to wear. A true New Englander, he loved all the sports teams. Not one who could sit idle either at work, home or on vacation, he was always doing something. He loved a round of golf and with his green thumb, he was always perfecting his yard. He was a generous guy who did for others without asking and only put forth his best efforts in anything he did and everything he touched.
Joy came in the form of meeting Shrewsbury native Andrea Figueras in 2008. They later married in Saint Mary of the Hills Church on July 8, 2012 in Boylston and made Littleton their home since 2012. He experienced immeasurable joy at the births of his children, Katelyn, Alexandra (Lexi) and Colin.
Professionally Sean worked at DBS Cleaning Solutions of Woburn and enjoyed a successful career with the company. He had a determined and admirable work ethic at the company and will be missed by all his co-workers.
Sean now holds in his arms again, his late daughter Katelyn who died at age 2, and is reunited with his step-father, Donald in heaven.
His love lives on in the hearts of his family and friends. In addition to his wife, Andrea, he leaves their five year old dinosaur loving son, Colin; his daughter. Lexi Michaud of Trinity, Florida; his mother, Cynthia Bruno of North Providence, RI; his in-laws, Chico and Madeline Figueras of Shrewsbury, Allison Figueras-Smith and her husband Eddie Smith of West Greenwich, RI, Caryn Figueras Keenan and her husband Scott Keenan of Paxton MA, Matthew Figueras and his wife Kimberly (Plante) Figueras of Paxton, MA; and many nieces & nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Sean's life by gathering for calling hours on Monday, June 11th from 6 to 8 p.m. in Saint Mary of the Hills Church, 630 Cross Street, Boylston and again on Tuesday morning where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated
at 10:30 a.m. Burial is private.
