Shawn F. Sims

Shawn F. Sims, 51 of Webster, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. He leaves behind his wife of 15 years, Dawn A. (Stebbins) Sims; his  children Tyler Auger-Sims and Tiara Sims. His step children Michellé Burrell, Ashayla Burrell, Eric Freeman Jr. and Davian Freeman; his father, William Sims;brothers and sisters, Willie B. Sims, Rudy Sims, Matthew Sims, Jackie Sims-Bowman, Mildred Sims and Micheal Sims; his grandsons Jariel Auger-Sims, Tavien Brooks, Jordan Auger-Sims and Jayden Freeman; granddaughters Shaydalisse Freeman, Jaycie Auger-Sims and Jakaela Sims. Many nieces and nephews that loved and adored him. He is predeceased by his mother Dorthy (Blyther) Sims, his twin brother, William E. Sims and his sister, Effie Sims.  

Shawn was born in Worcester, Massachusetts. On top of being the life of any party, he was a barber. Naturally he refused to settle at just one profession and quickly obtained a culinary arts certification as well as an apprenticeship in HVAC with ALGO Heating. In his spare time he enjoyed being with his family, chasing around his grandchildren and putting a smile on anyones face he spoke to. His infectious laugh would brighten any room he walked in. He had the biggest heart and he touched and inspired so many. He enjoyed watching sports as long as it was not a New England franchise. He learned to love gardening from his grandmother in his childhood summer visits to South Carolina but lastly he learned to love relaxing at the beach and traveling. 

Shawn always said don’t remember me on my bad days. Remember my smile, my laugh my silliness but most of all my love I gave you each time we saw one another. 

Calling hours will be held Sunday, April 3rd 2022 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM followed by a prayer service at 3:00 PM, in the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Flowers may be sent.
