Stephen A Lier

Stephen A. Lier 53 of Auburn died suddenly at UMass Hospital on Wednesday March 3, 2021. A longtime Auburn resident, he was a graduate of Wachusett High School class of ‘85. Stephen worked as a Machinist for Saint Gobain for over 30 years.  He was a beloved son, husband, father, and family man that will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Stephen leaves his wife of 30 years Susan (Rivers) Lier, two sons, Eric Lier, and Andrew Lier, and one daughter, Jillian Lier. He also leaves his parents Lester and Nancy (Sauer) Lier, one brother, Jeffrey Lier and his wife Karen, and two sisters. Christine Provencher, and Jennifer Cahill and her husband Dan. Also his father in-law Ronald Rivers.  His mother in-law Josephine Rivers died in May of 2020.

Stephen was a man of few words and it was never how much he said, but what he said that mattered. He had many hobbies and interests that made him happy. An excellent dart player who played in the Central MA Dart League, he enjoyed the time he spent with his friends. He also loved sports, whether it was playing golf, softball, basketball, or just watching the game on Sunday. And most importantly, he cherished the time he spent with his family above all else in his life. He loved with all his soul and he will be missed by all.

Funeral services for Stephen will be held on Tuesday March 9, 2021 at the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. Worcester, Ma 01605.  Calling hours will be held from 10am - 12 noon with a service beginning at 12 noon.
