Susanne S Westerman

Susanne S. (Mero) Westerman, 71, of Worcester, passed away in the comfort of her home on Monday, August 5, 2019.  Her loving husband of over thirty-four years, Stephen Westerman, pre-deceased her in June 2016.

Susanne is survived by a daughter, Shelli Haddad; three adoring grandchildren, Ryan A. Haddad and MaryRose E. Jancura of Boston, Jillian S. Haddad, and Josh S. Haddad, both of Holden; nieces, nephews, and cousins, including Nancy Griffiths of Worcester who was a best friend and “sister” to Susanne.  She was pre-deceased by two brothers, Gary and Stephen Mero.  Susanne was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Albert R. and Florence (Picard) Mero and has lived here all her life.

Susanne adored her grandchildren and her dog, Grayce.  Susanne found great solitude and comfort when she attended church at Christ the King Church.  She and Stephen spent many winters in Florida, where Sue continued to master her skills as a golfer.  Closer to home, she often played at Greenhill Golf Course in Worcester and at Holden Hills Country Club in Jefferson.  She was known to be a voracious shopper and bargain hunter and enjoyed “The Wonder of It All”.

Calling Hours for Susanne will be on Thursday, August 8, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.  Her Funeral will be on Friday, August 9, departing the funeral home at 11 a.m. in procession to an 11:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street, Worcester.  Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.
