Theresa M. DePari

Theresa M. (Acquaro) DePari, 92 of Sutton formerly a longtime resident of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Jewish Healthcare Center with her family by her side.

Theresa was born on January 24, 1930 in Worcester, one of eight children to the late Italian immigrants, Antonio and Mariagrazia (Albanese) Acquaro and was a graduate of Worcester Girls Trade.  Theresa worked as a waitress for many years at various restaurants in Worcester including Leo’s Restaurant, Harper’s, Parkway Diner and Anthony’s.  She also worked as a demonstrator for Sam’s Club, a job she enjoyed very much.  Theresa was a member of Saint John’s Church.  She enjoyed being at home, sewing, quilting, braiding rugs, cooking, swimming at the Girls Club and babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Theresa is survived by her beloved husband of 71 years, Salvatore DePari; her son, Francis DePari and his wife Jean of Worcester; her daughter, Mary Sciannameo and her husband Carlo of Sutton with whom she lived; six grandchildren, Kristie DePari, Matthew DePari and his wife Jamie, Daniel DePari and his wife Christine, Lisa Sciannameo, Christina Sciannameo and her husband Daniel D’Amico and Gina Mantel and her husband Cameron; five great grandchildren, Isabella, Lia, Madelyn, Nicholas and Elliott; many nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by her seven siblings, Helen Acquaro, Filomena Putes, Carmella Casso, Ralph Acquaro, Frank Acquaro, Gloria Rovezzi and Jennie Jones.

Services for Theresa will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. John’s Church, 40 Temple St., Worcester.  Burial will follow in Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester.  Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Friday, February 11^th from 9-10:30 am in the funeral home prior to departure for her funeral mass.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: St. John’s Food for the Poor, 40 Temple St., Worcester, MA. 01604
