Theresa I. (Soly) Vigliatura, 85, a longtime Holden resident passed away peacefully, Wednesday, October 27, 2022.
Born in Worcester, December 11, 1936, Theresa was the daughter of Edgar Soly, Sr., and Florence T. (Lambert) Soly. Raised in Worcester, Theresa graduated from South High School and Clark University and lived in Worcester and Shrewsbury, before moving to Holden over 22 years ago. Theresa worked in the Office of the Wright line Company, many years before retiring as a government contract expert.
Theresa is survived by her husband, Edward F. Vigliatura, Sr; three children, Edward Vigliatura Jr. and his wife Dawn of Shrewsbury, Amy O’Connor and her husband Bill with whom she lived; James P. Vigliatura and his wife Darryl of Templeton; seven grandchildren, Anthony, Jason, Alex, Meghan, Olivia, Jeffrey, and Matthew; a great granddaughter, Isabella; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A brother, Edgar C. Soly, Jr. predeceased her.
Theresa was a member of St Mary’s Church in Jefferson. She loved to be outside tending to her garden, and yard. She had the gift to grow anything to beauty. Theresa and Ed traveled as much as they could to many destinations in the United States and beyond, notably spending the winters in Florida.
A Graveside service will be held Friday, November 4th at 11 am in St John Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street, Worcester section L. There are no calling hours, Memorial remembrances in her name can be made to the Alzheimer’s association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601 or a charity of the donor’s choice. The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
