Thomas J. Mayotte, age 53, of Sterling, a loving fiancé, father, brother, nephew and friend passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018 in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home after a brief but brave and courageous battle with brain cancer.
Thomas was born on September 21, 1964 in Worcester, Massachusetts and was preceded in death by his father Richard Mayotte, Jr. and his mother Rita (Dumont) Mayotte. He was a graduate of Northbridge High School and attended Worcester State University. Thomas served his country in the National Guards for 6 years and was honorably discharge in 1990. Thomas was an electrician at Griffin Electric for many years and most recently worked as a project manager for Coughlin Electric. He was dedicated to his profession and took pride in all the jobs and projects he worked on through the years.
Thomas is survived by his fiancé’ Karen M. Maypother of Sterling; his two sons, Nathan and Noah Mayotte; a daughter, Lauryn Mayotte all of Brimfield; Karen’s children, Matthew R., Abigail R. and Luke F. Maypother all of Sterling; a brother, Joseph Mayotte of Gardner and several aunts and uncles including, Esther DiPietro of Worcester, Mary “Punkin” Renault of Northbridge; Donna Judkins of Millbury and many cousins.
Mr. Mayotte liked being outdoors, cycling, hiking, camping and being by the ocean. He enjoyed attending concerts, Red Sox and Patriot games with Karen. Most of all he loved spending time with his children and looked forward to trips to the Outer Banks with them. Thomas was a good father who was selfless and generous to his family and friends. He had a laid back easy spirit with a great sense of humor and a quick wit. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Thomas touched are invited to MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 3, 2018. Thomas’ memorial service will be celebrated following calling hours at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home Chapel. Memorial gifts can be made to the Pan Mass Challenge.
