Vincent J. Razzano, Sr. a longtime Shrewsbury resident passed away with loved ones gathered at his side, Monday, July 8th, 2019. He was 87 years of age. Vincent was born on May 7th, 1932, in Worcester, one of four children born to Italian parents Vincent A. and Anna (Aquino) Razzano. Educated in Worcester, Vincent joined the U.S. Air Force out of High School serving his country proudly during the Korean War. During his service and on leave at home, Vinny married the “Love of his life” Evelyn R. Panarelli. Discharged from active service with the Air Force, Vincent and Evelyn settled on Adams Street off Shrewsbury Street, in the Italian neighborhood of Worcester to begin their life and family. Shortly thereafter, Vincent moved his family to Shrewsbury where they have lived ever since for over 58 years. Vincent provided for his family by accepting a position in the Heat-treating department of Wyman-Gordon Company, Grafton Plant where he remained for 32 years before retiring in 1990. Vincent’s wife Evelyn left his side and passed away in 2011. He is survived by his devoted children, Vincent J. Razzano, Jr. and his wife Lynn of Westborough, Richard Razzano and his wife Susan, Michael Razzano and his wife Lisa all of Shrewsbury, and Maria Green of Grafton; a sister, Carol Hopkins of Worcester; six grandchildren he cherished, Bryan, Kyle, Brianna, Angela, Anthony and Nicholas; Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Two sisters, Irene Donahue and Diane Crespo predeceased. Vincent was a member of St Mary’s church, and the AFL-CIO United Steelworkers union, local 2285. He cherished his Italian heritage, loved Italian food, the occasional trips to the casino, and music of the 40’s and 50’s. Vincent especially the moments he spent with his grandchildren, attending sports games, activities, holidays and special occasions. Friends and relatives are invited to gather for calling hours Sunday, July 14th from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. His funeral will be held Monday, July 15th from the funeral home with a procession to St Mary’s Church, 640 Main Street where his funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am. Entombment with military honors will follow in St John’s Mausoleum.
