Vincent J Ricard

Vincent  J. Ricard, 69, of Worcester a friend to many passed away Monday, April 19, 2021 after a long period of declining health.

Vinny was born and raised in Worcester the son of Alfred and Arlene (McGee) Ricard.  He graduated from Commerce High school and has lived here all his life.   Vinny over his career worked for the Johnson Steel and Wire Company, and Worcester Housing Authority before retiring.   He also tended bar at the Brown Square Civic Club.

Vincent is survived by his wife of 40 years, Patricia (Senosk) Ricard; three children, CindyLee Persson-Bisson of East Longmeadow, Mark S Persson of Templeton, and Karl R. Persson of West Springfield; four grandchildren, Sasha, Sarah, Adam, and Mark Jr.; four great grandchildren; Alexia, Aliana, Avery, and Kalvin; two brothers, Ricky and Ronald and a sister, Laura; Many nieces, nephews extended family and friends.   In addition of his parents, a brother Joseph predeceased him.

Vinny was a member of the Brown Square Civic Association, and the United Steelworkers Union local.  He enjoyed the New England Patriots, Skiing all over the world, playing pitch, bowling, and camping in Kennebunk Maine.   He was a gentle man with a huge heart, bright smile, and great personality.   He will be missed by his family and friends at the Brown Square Civic.

Friends are invited to a period of calling hours Saturday May 1^st from 11 to 1 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St.   Burial will be private.  The family request that flowers be omitted and remembrances in his name can be made to the Umass-Memorial Oncology Department, carte of the Foundation, South Street, Shrewsbury, MA 01545. 

The Ricard family would like to thank  Dr’s Walsh, Dr Andrew Evens  and the great nursing staff of the Umass Memorial for their care and compassion they gave to Vincent.
