Vincenzo “Enzo” Angilella, 78, a loving husband and father and brother died peacefully on Thursday August 30, 2018 surrounded by his devoted family. His beloved wife Gina (Padua) Angilella died November 11, 2007. Enzo is survived by his son Andrew “Drew” Angilella of Worcester, a brother Giuseppe Angilella of Florida, and a sister Domenica Dumas in Texas, and several nephews and nieces.
Enzo was born in Tripoli, Libya son of the late Pietro and Elisa (DeFrancesca) Angilella and came to the United States in 1966. He worked for the Arduini Company as a Fabrication Assembler for many years before he retired. Enzo was a long time communicant of the Church of Our Lady of Mt-Carmel-St Ann, where he was an Icon of the Church. He volunteered countless hours to chair and work the parish Festivals for many years. The feast of Mt Carmel would never have been if it wasn’t for Enzo and his vast experience of running such a large event. He was a long time member of the Christoforo Columbus Sons of Italy in America Lodge # 168. Where he held various offices and was also instrumental with Gina in chairing their annual Carnival, Columbus Day Festival and Parade. Enzo along with his wife Gina received the Out Standing Italian of the year Award given by the Sons of Italy Lodge #168 for their dedication and being honored members of the lodge.
Enzo enjoyed being outdoors, he loved fishing, hunting, and grew a beautiful Garden! He coached Worcester Soccer league for many years and was a passionate and excellent Bocce player. He and Gina really enjoyed being together. They were inseparable, and they loved to travel to Italy and Texas to visit Family. Essi sono insieme per sempre ora!
Enzo’s funeral will be held on Tuesday September 4, from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00AM in the Church of Our Lady of Loreto 33 Massasoit Rd. A period to visit with the family will be held on Tuesday Morning only from 9AM to 10:15 before leaving for Church. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Mausoleum.
