William R. "Bill" St. Germain

William R. (Bill) St. Germain, 75, a lifelong resident of Worcester, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, September 9, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer.  He was surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest. 

Bill was born in Worcester, a son of the late Eugene W. and Loretta M. (Coffey) St. Germain. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Rose M. Carenzo-St. Germain; a son, William “BJ” R. St. Germain, Jr. and his wife Nicole; a daughter, Angela St. Germain all of Worcester. He was the proud papa to three beautiful granddaughters, Gianna Grimaldi, Cianna Aubin and Mia St. Germain. He leaves two brothers, Eugene St. Germain, Jr. of Webster and Robert St. Germain and his wife Joanne of Whitinsville; a sister, Jeannette Gabaree of Worcester; many nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, he is predeceased by two brothers, James and John St. Germain and a sister, Mary Stellato.

He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade and soon after joined the US Air Force in 1966. Bill worked as a welder and supervisor for New England Power Service Company for over 40 years where he then retired from.

Bill was a humble, strong-willed, hardworking man who loved his family with everything he had.  His most joyous moments were spending time with his grandchildren.  He was always happy to give a helping hand to anyone who needed it.  He has made an indelible mark on all who knew him and will be missed beyond words by those who love him. 

A period of calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 15^th from 9-11 am with his funeral service to begin immediately at 11:00 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester.  Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105
