William “Billy” Setaro, 64, a lifelong Worcester resident, devoted husband, father, brother and grandfather passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021 from injures suffered in a motorcycle accident.
Billy was born in Worcester and was one of five children of John “Johnny” and Ruth (Coulson) Setaro. Raised in Worcester, he attended Worcester public schools and began a life of entrepreneurship in many different industries and jobs. He began working for a Hood ice cream company in Framingham, family businesses, the American Way Auto Sales, Johnny’s Cycle Shop, a cab owner for Red and Yellow Cabs, and presently as a route driver for ABF Freight.
Billy is survived by the love of his life for the past 26 years, Leanne M. (Greenhalge) Setaro; a son Achille “Ike” Setaro and his partner Melissa Donovan of Shrewsbury; two daughters, Alicia Gonzalez and her husband Brian of Princeton, and Amber Foster and her husband Joshua of Virginia; four brothers, John “Slugger” Setaro and his partner Susan Haines of Middleboro, Michael “Buster” Setaro and his partner Karen Fields, Anthony “Tony” Setaro and his wife Holly, all of Worcester; and John S. Setaro and his wife Stephanie in Pennsylvania; three sisters, Christina “Tina” Sodano and her husband Armando of Charlton, Kerrie M. Catacchio and her husband Steven of Oxford, and Julie Setaro and her husband Elvis Paulino of New York; his in-laws Ronald and Janet Greenhalge; two granddaughters he cherished, Lorili and Ryleigh; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Billy was a special person with a huge heart, bright smile, and welcoming manner, who could light up any room he entered. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 170, the Brown Square Civic Club, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. A Harley Davidson enthusiast from a young age, Billy always enjoyed swap meets and numerous charity rides. His life was ended too short while participating in the 22nd Annual W-6 Ride for Heroes on his beloved blue Harley Street Glider.
Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours on Sunday, September 26, from 3 pm to 7 pm at MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, located at 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. His funeral service will be held Monday, September 27, at 10 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances in his name can be made to the W6 fund, care of Worcester fire department Credit Union, 26 Glennie Street Worcester.
