Yvette Ramos

Yvette Ramos, 56, of Spencer, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024 at Care One in Millbury, surrounded by loving family.

Yvette is survived by a son, Norborto R. Lopez and his fiancé J.C. Santiago of Spencer; a daughter, Barbara A. Lopez-Swenson and her husband Samuel of Worcester; two grandchildren, Samuel P. Lopez-Swenson, Jr. and Violet Yvette Lopez; two brothers, Eugenio Ramos of Allentown, PA and Eddie Ramos of Astoria, NY; two sisters, Georgina Ramos-Plaza of Allentown, PA and Eva Ramos-Marquez of Brooklyn; three step-children, Illiana Maldonado, Sasha Maldonado, and Ismael Maldonado; many nieces and nephews.  Yvette was born in Brooklyn, New York, daughter of the late Catalino Ramos Garcia and the late Flor Teresa DeJesus Perez.  She graduated from Franklin Delano Roosevelt High School in New York.

Yvette moved, with her family, to central Massachusetts in the mid 1990’s.  She graduated from Quinsigamond Community College and attended Becker Junior College.  She worked as a customer service rep. for many years at Verizon.  While in New York, she worked for the New York City Transit Authority.

Yvette loved dancing, singing, and socializing.  She was a singer with a local band in New York, before moving to Massachusetts.  She was a natural when it came to making friends and is lovingly remembered as a social butterfly. She loved to cook and was always in the kitchen. She owned her own catering business both in Brooklyn, NY and here in Worcester.  She was most proud of her children and grandchildren and loved spending every moment she could with them. 

Services for Yvette will be on Saturday, February 10, in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester; with Calling Hours will be from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., followed by a Prayer Service and Celebration of Her Life at 2 p.m.
