Kathleen M Ryan

Kathleen M. (Delaney) Ryan, 60, of Worcester passed away peacefully Friday, October 19th 2012 with her devoted family gathered beside. Kathleen was born in Worcester, one of eight children born to Francis and Carmella (Lanzillotti) Delaney She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy High School, attended Pasco Hernando Community College in Florida.. In the late 60's, Kathleen met and married the love of her life for the next 41 years William J. Ryan, Jr. Together they settled in Worcester to raise their two sons and have lived here all their lives. Besides her husband William, Kathleen is survived by the two sons she loved so much, Sean F. Ryan of Worcester and Jody M. Ryan of Holden; Her seven siblings, Paula M. Hind of Shrewsbury, Michael L. Delaney, Marie Delaney, Joseph C. Delaney, and Andrew J. Delaney all of Worcester, Patricia A. Delaney of Greenfield and Stephen F. Delaney of East Hampton; three granddaughters she cherished, Cadance E., Abby Rose, and Amelia; several nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. Kathleen began her employed years as an administrative assistant for the Worcester Telegram & Gazette Classified Advertising department. She then took a job working as marketing manager for the Central Massachusetts Visitors Bureau before retiring due to illness. Kathleen's whole life centered around her husband, children and especially her granddaughters. She loved being a Grammy, cooking for her family, and watching the New England Patriots. She was a caring and devoted woman who always put everybody and their needs before hers. A Memorial service will be held Friday, October 26th at 11:00 am in the Massachusetts Veterans Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Blvd in Winchendon. There are no calling hours. Those wishing to attend the service are welcome to gather at 9:30 am in the parking lot of the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. proceeding in procession to the cemetery. You may also proceed directly to the cemetery. Memorial remembrances in Kathleen's name may be made to the American Lung Association, 460 Totten Pond Road, Waltham, MA 02451
