Jean A. (Evangeline) Troiano, 77, of Worcester, passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 in UMass Hospital. Jean is survived by her loving family; two daughters, Joanne Troiano and Lisa Paldino and her husband Paul all of Worcester; a son, Michael A. Troiano, Jr. and his wife Lynn of Millbury; her siblings, James Evangeline and his wife Barbara of Auburn, Evelyn DeCaro and Janet Trottier and her husband Robert all of Worcester; five grandchildren, Paul Paldino, Nicholas Paldino and his wife Stefanie, Christina Florence and her husband Jeff, Michael Paldino and Allala Jean Troiano; two great grandchildren Alexandria and Cassandra Florence; many nieces, nephews and extended family. Jean was born in Worcester, daughter of Peter and Ida (Claflin) Evangeline and has lived here all her life. She is predeceased by her loving brother, Charles Evangeline and sister, Barbara (Evangeline) Haddad. Mrs. Troiano was a member of Saint Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral. She was very proud of her Greek heritage, and fulfilled a life's dream when she had the opportunity to visit the small Greek Island of Lesvos, where her father was born. Jean had worked for several local companies, but enjoyed her last job the most which was serving customers in the bakery at Douglas Drug on Grafton Street, Worcester. She had a passion for cooking, especially meatballs. She enjoyed needlework, playing the organ and a good game of cards. She often enjoyed "taking a ride" to enjoy "The Wonder of It All" with her family and friends. There are no calling hours. Funeral services and burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Saint Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
