Bonnie H. Lemoine

May 18, 1945 — August 15, 2023

Bonnie H. (Shugrue) Lemoine, 78, of Auburn, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at the Goddard House, surrounded by the love of her family.  She is reunited with her loving husband of forty-four years, Ronald B. Lemoine, who predeceased her on February 14, 2014.

Bonnie is survived by her adoring children, Christopher R. Lemoine and his wife Stacy of Rutland, Jennifer A. Briggs and her husband Paul of Lynnfield; Jeremy R. Lemoine and his wife Marissa of Dudley; her life-long friend and sister, Nancy M. Lavoie and her husband Marcel of Sutton; eight grandchildren, Garrett and his wife Alana, Ross and his wife Shannon, Evan, Maura, Aidan, Keely, Lily, and Finley; a great grandson, Greyson, and one soon to be born; nieces and nephews.  Bonnie was predeceased by her two brothers, William J. “Bill” Shugrue and Paul Shugrue.  She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Francis P. and Frances J. (Mullins) Shugrue.  She was a proud graduate of Saint Peter Central Catholic High School.

Bonnie worked for many years at Jamesbury Corporation, before retiring.  She was very proud of her Irish Heritage and loved being surrounded by her family.  She enjoyed going to casinos with her husband and continued with other family members after his death.  She had been a cheerleader in high school and a proud member of the Greendale Royalaires Drum and Bugle Corps. Bonnie also volunteered at Pleasant Valley Country Club when they hosted the PGA.  Bonnie was a big sports fan and enjoyed the Patriots, the University of Notre Dame, and the Bruins.  

Bonnie’s strong faith and loving family kept her strong for many years.

Calling Hours will be on Monday, August 21, from 4 pm until 7 pm in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.  Her Funeral will be on Tuesday, August 22, departing the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. in procession to a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at North American Martyrs Church, 8 Wyoma Drive, Auburn.  Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Saint John’s Food for The Poor, 20 Temple Street, Worcester, MA 01604.
