Donald F. Grady

Donald Francis Grady, 77, of Worcester, passed away at home, Saturday, December 25, 2021.

Donald was born in Norfolk, Virginia, raised in Worcester, the son of Norman L. and Florence R. (Perrone) Grady.  He graduated from North High School, then enlisted in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1965. Upon discharge from the service he became a firefighter for the Worcester Fire Department and worked for the Worcester Department of Public Works & Parks.

Donald is survived by his eight children, Paul,  John, Colleen Grady, Mondine, Dawn, Bridget, Anne and Alta , 19 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; his half brothers and sisters in California, Thomas Grady , Miles Grady, Adriana Grady, Saul Grady, Roxanne Grady , Shaun Grady , and Norma Grady. His companion of 36 years, Candice Johnson predeceased him.

Calling hours for Donald will be held Thursday, January 6th from 4 pm to 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. His funeral will be celebrated Friday, January 7th from the funeral home with a procession to Blessed Sacrament Church, 551 Pleasant St., Worcester  where his Mass will be held at 10:00 am. Burial will be held in the Spring at Rural Glen Cemetery in Hubbardston.
