Donna (Mocca) Mancuso

Donna M. (Mocca) Mancuso, 72, a longtime resident of Shrewsbury passed away with the ones she loved gathered at her bedside Wednesday, October 16^th, 2019. 

Donna was born on March 15, 1947 a daughter of Frank and Mary (Assad) Mocca.  Raised in Worcester, Donna graduated from Quinsigamond Community College, earned her bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Massachusetts and her master’s degree from Worcester State College.  Utilizing her degree in education, Donna taught for many years in the Wachusett and Northbridge school systems, before retiring.

Donna is survived by her loving husband of 49 years Joseph C Mancuso; their two children, Melissa M. Turner, her husband John and their two children, Nathan and Vanessa of Shrewsbury, Nicholas C. Mancuso, his wife Kelly and their twins Matteo and Camila of Burlington, VT;  her sister, Paula Hatch in Arizona; Nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. 

In Donna’s life, nothing was more important than her family.  She cherished the time she could spend with them and found her most inspired and proud moments with her grandchildren. She found great joy in being a part of their lives and watching them grow.   Donna truly believed that faith, family and friends were the most important and she had room in her heart for everyone she met.  She was very generous with her love, time and resources, and helped anyone she could.  Donna also enjoyed summers at their home in Yarmouthport on Cape Cod, vacationing in Delray Beach in Florida and traveling with her love Joe.  She was a member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association and National Education Association. 

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 21^st at 11:00 am in Liberty Church, 495 Hartford Turnpike Rd Shrewsbury.  Burial will be private.  Calling hours are private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Beaumont Rehabilitation Hospital, 3 Lyman St, Westborough, MA 01581.  The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
