Francis J Varville, Jr.

Francis Varville,Jr.,78,of Lunenburg,passed away at St. Vincent’s Medical Center on November 21,2022, after an illness.

Son of Katy and Francis Varville, he lived most of his life in the Leominster area.

He was a graduate of St Bernard’s High School Fitchburg, MA.

Fran was an icon in the food industry for over 50 years, retiring in 2014. He enjoyed yearly trips to Aruba and spending summers at the cottage in Maine at Old Orchard Beach having laughs with his many friends in the community.

Fran oversaw high/low tides each day to schedule walks and swimming at Ocean Park Beach and always had a supply of dog biscuits for any pup walking by the cottage.

He was a sweet man with an infectious smile and loved sharing funny stories.

Fran is survived by the love of his life Alicia Pierce of Worcester, his brother Leonard Varville and wife Mary of Leominster, his son Scott Varville of Leominster, pre-deceased by his son Brian Varville of Leominster, nieces and nephews, his stepdaughter Jessica Buckingham and her children Kelsey Buckingham, Jenna Buckingham and Meaghan Buckingham;His dearest friends: Kelly Chippas and Sasha DiIorio of Shrewsbury, Joan and Jack Fleischer of Naples, FL, Gary Matthews of Nashua, NH,    Larry DiStefano of Andover, MA, Wayne Bickford of Manchester, NH, Peter Kochanowski of FL,  his many friends at Global Gym in Leominster and dearest neighbor and friend Mary Ellen Derosier.

A memorial service for family will be held at a later date.
