Kathryn P. “Kay” Troiano, 82, of Worcester passed away unexpectedly in her home, Thursday, September 5, 2019.
She was born in Worcester, one of four daughters of James and Irene (Graveline) Brosnahan and has lived here all her life. Kay was employed by the Jen Manufacturing Corporation for over 18 years before retiring.
Kathryn’s husband of 54 years, Vito A. Troiano passed away on November 26, 2010. Her son John T. Troiano passed away in 2004 and a sister, Ruth Prunier also pre deceased her. Kathryn is survived by a daughter, Margaret “Peggy” Cioffi of Auburn; four grandchildren, Heather, Shyla and Breanna Pellegrino and Jacob Cioffi; seven great grandchildren; Kayla, Ashley, Willi, Angela, Joseph, Courtney and Lennon and a great great granddaughter, Skylar. Kathryn also leaves three sisters, Irene Hull and Frances Bennett of Oxford, and Claire Guzman in California; Many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Kay was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Church. She enjoyed traveling, watching old movies, and the occasional trips to the casinos. She was a simple person who found great joy, with and around her many grandchildren. They were her life’s inspiration.
Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours, Sunday, September 8th from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral service will be held Monday, September 9th at 10:00 am in the funeral home, her cousin the Reverend Ronald Falco will officiate. Burial will follow in St John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her name can be made to St Bernadette Parish, 266 Main Street, Northborough, MA 01532.
