Maureen B. Lyon

Maureen B. (Mahan) Lyon, 68 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Rose Monahan Hospice Home.

Maureen was born on December 10, 1952 in Worcester, MA., one of five daughters to the late Robert and Mary (Morrissey) Mahan.  She graduated from St. Stephen’s Catholic School.  Maureen worked as a Nurses Aid at Worcester State Hospital and Haywood Valley where she met her husband, Elmer.  After having children, she chose to become a full-time homemaker.  Maureen loved gardening, music, bird watching, cats and had an unfiltered hilarious sense of humor.

Maureen’s husband, Elmer S. Lyon passed away on April 3, 2019.  She is survived by her son, Stephen Lyon and his wife Jeralyn Lyon; her daughter, Megan Bigelow; her four sisters, Colleen Manzello, Eileen Caracciolo, Noreen Mahan and Cathleen Mahan.

A period of calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021 from 1-3 pm followed by a memorial service at 3 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester.  Burial with her husband will be held privately in the spring.
