Patricia A. (Elie) Coyne, 80, of Worcester, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by the love of her life, her husband of fifty-nine years, Paul F. Coyne, Sr.; a son, Paul F. Coyne, Jr. and his wife Jane of Worcester; three daughters, Patricia “Kelly” Carpino and her husband Alan “AJ” of Worcester, Christine Fox and her husband Jeff of Wilbraham, and Colleen Coyne of Worcester; four grandchildren, Ryan Carpino, Zack Carpino, Madison Fox and JJ Fox; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers, Donald, James, David, and Arthur Elie. Patricia was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Raymond J. and Julia (Doherty) Elie and has lived here all her life.
Patricia worked for many years as beverage manager at Holden Hills Country Club in Holden, having previously worked as a bartender at the former Holiday Inn on Lincoln Street. She has also worked for National Car Rental when the franchise was at Worcester Airport.
Pat was a devout Catholic who had been a faithful member of Christ the King Church for many years. She was a member of the Emblem Club, and the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
In Pat's life, nothing took precedence over her family. She cherished every moment she could spend with them and found her greatest inspiration and proudest moments in her interactions with her grandchildren. Pat loved being a part of their lives and witnessing their growth. She passionately believed that faith, family, and friends were of utmost importance, and she welcomed everyone she met into her heart. Her love was boundless, and she generously shared her time and kindness, leaving a positive impact on numerous lives.
Pat also found solace and great joy in her summers at Long Sands Beach in York, Maine where she had a deep love for reading and enjoyed reminiscing with her close circle of beach friends.
Calling Hours will be on Friday, October 13, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral will be on Saturday, October 14, departing the funeral home at 9:35 a.m. in procession to a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street, Worcester. Interment will follow at Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
