Steven P. Lukes, 64 of Worcester, passed away unexpectedly at UMass Medical Center on Thursday, December 2, 2021 after injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Steven was born in Worcester, a son of the late Nicholas Lukes. He was a graduate of St. John’s High School and later earned his bachelor’s degree in sociology from Worcester State College. With his passion for sports, Steven then acquired his broadcasting license. He went on to work as a Residential Support Professional @ TILL, Inc (Toward Independent Living and Learning in Westboro) for over 28 years where his warmth and kindness were shared with his clients and was considered a role model and family member.
An avid sports fan, he wore his Celtic green proudly. He loved spending time at the beach and listening to the Grateful Dead. He never forgot a face, was a most loyal friend and was always there to help others. His infectious smile and sense of humor only complimented his generous heart.
We are so grateful he touched our hearts for the short time we had.
Steven is survived by his mother, Katina (Pagios) Lukes of Auburn; his brother, George Lukes and his wife Deborah of Worcester; three sisters, Deborah Horgan wife of the late Steven Horgan of Oxford, Pamela Degnan and her husband Sean of Brewster and Sandra Desautels and her husband Richard of Charlton; nieces and nephews, Nick Desautels and his wife Heidi of Millbury, Aimee Bunn and her husband Aaron of Auburn, Ryan Horgan and his wife Megan of Worcester, Haley Degnan of Boston, and Paige Degnan of Woonsocket, RI.
